Just before my surgery last week, my mom, sister, SIL Rachel and our girl babies had a first annual girls’ weekend! Or as Ella liked to call it, a girl party! (We were missing Julie and Madden, but school schedules conflicted.) We flew to Colorado and all stayed with Amy and Hans. We had a blizzard, we went to the zoo, we painted nails, we played, we got to do an Easter Egg hunt, and we had a great time! The girls loved their first trip on a plane, too! So much fun. Let’s revel in our happy pics!
First trip on a plane! The girls did great!
Klaus, Ella and Josie all dressed up for the snow!
My little California girls had never seen anything like it. And they loved it! They were completely impervious to the cold. And Amy’s dog Applejack followed them EVERYWHERE.
The backyard accumulated a few feet of snow in a single day. It was so fun for us California kids who haven’t even seen RAIN in years! (And yes, we’re ALL jealous of Hans and Amy’s huge backyard. It’s dreamy.)
My sister is due with her second baby (a girl!) in July. We couldn’t visit without bringing cute baby girl things!
Josie, Ella, and cousin Molly at the Denver Zoo. It was a great outing!
Mom wheeling me around the zoo. Thank goodness for wheelchairs.
Silly sisters.
I had some good time with my brother, too (even though he’s not a girl, we let him come hang out a bit).
Here’s to a very successful first annual girl party! Amy with Ella, Rachel, Me with Josie, Grandma (Mom) with Molly.
Oh Heidi, I admire everything about you. And, I have so much respect for your husband, mother, father, and your and your husbands supportive families. (What an unbelievable blessing they are!) You are all an incredible testimony of honest-to-goodness followers of Christ! They are clearly in this with you! You are not walking through the fire alone… Jesus, your loved ones, and other people who care about you are as much walking through the fire “as they can be.” (Although, you alone are the one suffering the effects of cancer.) What a powerful and beautiful testimony for Christ! GOD IS BEING HIGHLY GLORIFIED THROUGH YOUR JOURNEY! His plan for you is not “only” for later, but for today! His plan is unfolding as you deal with this dreaded disease. One thing that resounds true in my spirit is how very, very, precious you are to Him. Please never lose sight of His great love for you.. If you get a chance goggle Ephesians 3:20 in the Ampflied Bible. I continue to faithfully pray for you and your precious family. God bless you, courageous warrior princess!
